Gold Pyramid House in Illinois, USA
Wow! This is an amazing 24-karat-gold-plated 17,000 square foot Pyramid House! It is located in Wadsworth, Illinois, USA and was built by the building contractor Jim Onan in 1977 because of his fascination with Egyptology! He soon after had giant statues built on the lot including a 50-foot statue of King Tut and lined his driveway with 80 stone sphinxes. Onan lived in the house with his family for a few years and from 1978 to 1981 opened it up to paying visitors. He has since sold it and the house is now a private residence that is closed off with iron gates and the house is surrounded by a moat! This is exactly what an Egyptian Pharoah must have felt like in his home!
